A design for a Lamborghini named after the Indonesian island of Madura is making its way around automobile Internet sites.
The Lamborghini Madura has been proposed as the high-end Italian automaker’s first gas-electric hybrid. “Doing a car more efficient and more nature-friendly, doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be exciting, good-looking and fast,” said designer Slavche Tanevsky as quoted by the website worldcarfans.com.
Tanevsky is a student at the Munich University of Applied Sciences. He worked with designers from Lamborghini and Audi as part of the automaker’s Raw Materials Project.
The name is a reference to the island’s famous bull races. Lamborghini has a tradition of choosing names associated with bulls.
